One vocabulary for a brand sold in forty countries

Product technology described four different ways across engineering, marketing, retail, and web — rebuilt as a single system everyone could use.

Brand StrategyProduct Commercialization

The challenge

The same construction technology had one name in engineering documents, another in catalog copy, a third at retail, and a fourth on the website. Buyers heard different stories from different people about the same product.

Nobody was wrong, exactly. There was simply no canonical source, so every team invented what they needed and defended it.

The approach

Audited every place product technology was named or described across the organization, then reconciled the list against what the engineering team could actually substantiate.

Built a single reference of technology names, construction specifications, and approved marketing language — structured so it could be copy-pasted directly into catalog, web, and sales tools rather than reinterpreted each time.

Outcome

  • One vocabulary in use across marketing, retail, and product teams.
  • Copy production moved from interpretation to assembly, cutting the review cycle on seasonal launches.
